Privacy Policy for Flow
Last updated: February 2026
1. Introduction
This privacy policy describes how Flow ("the App"), developed by CrownLabs, handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices. Flow is designed with a privacy-first approach -- your productivity data stays on your device and under your control.
2. Information We Collect
Flow collects the following data to provide its core functionality:
- Focus session data -- duration, timestamps, and completion status of your focus sessions
- App blocking preferences and schedules -- which apps you choose to block and when
- Focus score and streak data -- your productivity metrics and daily streaks
- Difficulty level settings -- your chosen difficulty for focus sessions
- App preferences -- theme, notification settings, and other in-app configurations
All productivity data is stored locally on your device. CrownLabs does not collect, transmit, or have access to your personal usage data.
3. How Your Data Is Stored
Flow is designed to keep your data private and under your control:
- On-device storage -- All data is stored locally on your device using iOS local storage mechanisms. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync.
- Optional iCloud sync -- If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your data is synchronized using Apple's end-to-end encryption. Only you can access your synced data; neither Apple nor CrownLabs can read it.
- No server-side storage -- CrownLabs does not operate servers that store your personal data. We do not maintain databases of user information.
4. Screen Time and App Usage
Flow uses Apple's Screen Time APIs to provide its core app blocking functionality during focus sessions. Here is how we handle this sensitive data:
- Flow uses Screen Time APIs exclusively to block apps during your focus sessions. This is a core feature of the app and requires your explicit permission.
- App usage data accessed through Screen Time APIs stays entirely on your device. CrownLabs does not collect or transmit information about which apps you use, how often you use them, or any other app usage patterns.
- Flow does not access, read, or store your Screen Time usage history or statistics beyond what is needed to actively block apps during a focus session.
- Family Sharing controls: Any Family Sharing or parental control settings are managed entirely through iOS Screen Time settings, not through Flow. Flow respects all existing Screen Time restrictions set by a parent or guardian.
5. Data We Do NOT Collect
Flow is built on the principle of minimal data collection. We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:
- No personally identifiable information (name, email, phone number, address)
- No browsing history or web activity
- No app usage patterns sent to any server
- No analytics SDKs that track individual users
- No advertising networks or ad-related tracking
- No device identifiers used for tracking purposes
- No location data
- No contacts, photos, or other personal content
6. Third-Party Services
Flow integrates only with the following Apple-provided services. No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used:
- Apple App Store -- Handles purchases and subscription management. Apple's privacy policy governs transaction data.
- Apple iCloud -- Optional, user-controlled cloud sync. All iCloud data is end-to-end encrypted by Apple.
- Apple Screen Time APIs -- Used for app blocking functionality during focus sessions. All data processed through these APIs remains on your device.
Flow does not include any third-party analytics frameworks, advertising SDKs, or data brokers.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
You are in complete control of your data at all times:
- Retention -- Your data persists on your device until you choose to delete it. There are no automatic expiration periods.
- In-app deletion -- You can delete all your data at any time by navigating to Settings > Delete All Data within the Flow app.
- Uninstalling the app -- Removing Flow from your device deletes all locally stored data associated with the app.
- iCloud data -- If you have enabled iCloud sync, you can manage and delete synced data through iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage.
8. Children's Privacy
Flow is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since Flow does not collect personal information from any user, there is no risk of children's data being collected or shared.
Parents and guardians can use iOS Screen Time parental controls to manage their child's device usage independently of Flow. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information to us, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to address the situation.
9. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access -- All your data is stored on your device and is directly accessible to you within the Flow app at any time.
- Deletion -- You can delete all your data through the in-app settings or by uninstalling the app.
- Portability -- Your data is stored on your device and synced through iCloud, giving you full control over it.
- No account required -- Flow does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personal information to use the app.
Because Flow does not collect or store your personal data on any server, there is no server-side data to request, modify, or delete.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or applicable laws. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Flow after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
