Frequently Asked Questions

Open Flow and tap the "+" button or "Select Apps" on the main screen. You will see a list of your installed apps powered by iOS Screen Time. Choose the apps you want to block during focus sessions, then start a focus session. The selected apps will be blocked until the session ends. You can update your blocked app list at any time between sessions.
Focus sessions are timed periods where your selected apps are blocked. Choose a duration between 5 minutes and 4 hours, select your difficulty level, and tap Start. During the session, blocked apps will be inaccessible. Complete the session to build your streak and improve your Focus Score. Free users get 3 sessions per day, while Pro users have unlimited sessions.
Flow offers multiple difficulty levels to match your needs. Easy gives gentle reminders but lets you bypass blocks if needed. Medium requires a brief waiting period before you can bypass. Hard makes it significantly harder to access blocked apps. Strict mode completely locks blocked apps with no way to bypass until the session ends. Higher difficulty levels contribute to a better Focus Score. All difficulty levels are available with Pro.
Your Focus Score is a measure of your productivity consistency. It is calculated based on several factors: session completions, consecutive day streaks, session duration, and difficulty level. Completing sessions without breaking focus earns you a higher score. The score resets gradually if you miss days, encouraging consistent usage. All Focus Score data is stored locally on your device.
Yes. Flow lets you schedule focus sessions in advance with recurring schedules. Go to the Schedules tab, tap "New Schedule," choose your days and times, select which apps to block, and set a difficulty level. Flow will automatically start blocking distractions at your scheduled times. Free users can create up to 3 scheduled sessions, while Pro users have unlimited scheduling.
To delete all your data, open Flow and go to Settings > Delete All Data. This will erase all your focus session history, streaks, scores, and preferences. Alternatively, uninstalling Flow from your device will remove all locally stored data. If you have iCloud sync enabled, you can manage synced data through iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage.
If you reinstalled Flow or switched devices and your Pro subscription is not showing up, open Flow and go to Settings > Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase. The restoration process connects to the App Store to verify your purchase. If the issue persists, contact us at [email protected] with your Apple ID email and approximate purchase date.
To cancel your Flow subscription, go to your iPhone Settings > tap your name > Subscriptions > select Flow > Cancel Subscription. You will continue to have access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. Flow does not handle subscriptions directly -- all billing is managed through Apple. If you need help with a refund, contact Apple Support directly.

Troubleshooting

Blocking

App blocking not working

Make sure you have granted Flow permission to use Screen Time. Go to iPhone Settings > Screen Time and ensure it is enabled. Then open Flow > Settings and re-grant Screen Time access. Restart your device if the issue persists.

Session

Focus session ended unexpectedly

Sessions may end if the app is force-quit or if your device restarts. Make sure Background App Refresh is enabled for Flow in iPhone Settings > General > Background App Refresh. Also check that Low Power Mode is not interfering with background processes.

Billing

Subscription not recognized

Try going to Flow > Settings > Restore Purchases. Ensure you are signed in with the correct Apple ID. If the problem continues, check your subscription status in iPhone Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions. Contact us at [email protected] if you need further assistance.

Sync

Data not syncing

Verify that iCloud sync is enabled in Flow > Settings > iCloud Sync. Check that your device is connected to the internet and that iCloud is not out of storage. Go to iPhone Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud and make sure Flow has permission to use iCloud.
